Hazel Simpson is a highly accomplished individual who has made significant contributions in the fields of film, media, and humanitarian work. As the owner and CEO of Hazel Visions, headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, she has emerged as a prominent figure in the city's entertainment scene. Under Hazel Visions, she oversees three subsidiaries: I Am Awards, Sis to Sis Productions, and Drama and Arts Academy.
With a deep-rooted passion for filmmaking and storytelling, Hazel Simpson embarked on her creative journey at Monroe College NY. Her goal has always been to empower and enlighten people of all ages through her work. Beginning her career in the arts, she performed in musicals on Broadway, which further fueled her love for creativity and inspired her to educate young individuals about the wonders of the arts.
Taking a bold step, Hazel Simpson established the Drama and Arts Academy, an art-based educational childcare facility in Fayetteville, Georgia. This academy aims to nurture the artistic talents of children and provide them with a solid foundation in the arts.
Under the banner of Sis to Sis Productions, Hazel Simpson has built an entertainment platform in the film industry that focuses on educating and empowering families. Over the years, the production company has successfully created meaningful film projects within the community. Hazel's critically acclaimed film, "Sisters and the Shrink," explores the journey of six women as they mend broken relationships with the help of a therapist. The film received the Silver Award at the 2019 International Independent Film Awards. Additionally, Hazel's movie selections, including "Sisters & The Shrink 1, 2, and 3, 4 and 5", The Prayer, The Children Cry, Dance of hope and Watch It, all can be found on Amazon Prime, Tubi and six other streaming platforms and eight countries. Her new project “Watch It” is a psychological thriller starring reality star and actress, Towanda Braxton (Braxton Family Values.)
In addition to her creative pursuits, Hazel Simpson is a passionate humanitarian. She founded the I Am Awards, an annual event that recognizes and celebrates hardworking women in various fields. The awards highlight female entrepreneurs who embrace diversity and demonstrate creativity in their respective industries.
Hazel Simpson's accomplishments have gained recognition, and she has been featured in prestigious magazines such as Authority Magazine, People You Need to Know, Rolling Out, and Young Black Entrepreneur (YBE). Her contributions have been acknowledged by the International Women's Leadership Association, Bovanti Iconic woman award and ATL hottest producer production company award. Hazel also served as a representative on the public arts commission board in South Fulton district 5 in 2023 to 20024.
Hazel attributes her success to her unwavering dedication, her family's support, and her faith in God.
